The Castle View Gardens , formally know as 'Le Jardins de la Mer', is a public garden that is situated on the waterfront in St Helier . The time when the gardens are at their best is just before the sun sets when the extensive lighting scheme comes into life. The lighting scheme won an award from Thorn Lighting, you can see why in the pictures below.

This is a picture of the water feature in the gardens, a maze with a fountain. Half of the maze is made with water jets and the other half with shrubs. This picture was taken looking out ot sea. You can just see Elizabeth Castle in the top left hand corner of the photo.

This picture is of the whole of the waterfront development. Since this picture was taken, several more developments have been completed. You can see the 'Le Fregate Cafe' on the middle left hand side of the picture. The cafe is based on the design of an upturned boat. The Le Fregate is actually beside the Jardins de La Mer.
