Smail and Richards Ltd is a local Jersey company and has been serving the island for over 30 years. It was originally started by two electricians, Bob Richards & Simon Smail who went into partnership. Now the company has grown and employs around 25+ electricians and 7 office staff.
We occupy a the top two floors of a large building on the outskirts of St Helier. Here we have modern offices with the latest computer systems, a material store with stock control, a workshop with various test benches for fault finding and a large storage area. Our offices and stores are open between the hours of 0800 and 1700 Monday to Friday. Out of hours, we have an answer machine service for non urgent calls and 24hr 7 day per week contact number for emergencies for all of our clients (see contact us).
We carry professional public liability insurance up to £10 million and also carry design insurance.

We are members of NIC EIC (National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting) and the Jersey Electrical Contractors Association. Membership to these bodies, and an efficient well organised management, ensures that the company meets the required standards to trade and that you, the customer, gets a high quality standard of workmanship and service.
The services we offer are wide and varied as you will see if you visit the Projects pages of this site where a sample of some of the works we have carried out can be seen. We have undertaken projects up to £1.25 million in value.
